Terms of Service

Effective date: October 28, 2026. Last updated: October 28, 2026

Welcome to Small Claims Coach. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Small Claims Coach, LLC ("Small Claims Coach," "we," "us," or "our") for your use of smallclaimscoach.com, its pages and newsletters, and the paid membership called The Playbook (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, buying a membership, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Important: we are not your lawyer. Small Claims Coach is not hired as your lawyer. When you buy The Playbook, you are buying a guide, no different from buying a book in a store. We don't want your case-specific information and we won't review it. Buying does not create an attorney-client relationship, and we are not practicing law. See Section 1A.

Plain-English summary (not a substitute for the full Terms): We publish legal information and the Playbook guides you as you organize your own small claims case. We are not your lawyer. The Playbook is a yearly membership that renews automatically until you cancel the renewal, which you can do anytime. We email you a reminder 30 days before each yearly renewal. The regular price is $199 a year; new members may get a first-year promo price of $149, then it renews at $199 a year. The Playbook is sold "as is": what's in it can change. Your first payment is final; a renewal charge can be refunded if you email us within 14 days of it. Disputes are heard individually in the courts of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, not as class actions, and our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. Your login is for you alone. Our content is copyrighted: don't copy it, share it, scrape it, or feed it to AI tools.

1A.1 We are not hired as your lawyer. Small Claims Coach is not hired as your lawyer, and no one at Small Claims Coach acts as your lawyer.

1A.2 You are buying a guide. A purchase buys access to a guide. It is no different from buying a book in a store.

1A.3 Don't send us your case details. We don't want your case-specific information, and we will not review it. If you send it anyway, we won't read it for legal purposes, comment on it, or keep it confidential as a lawyer would.

1A.4 No attorney-client relationship; no practice of law. Buying, using the Service, or contacting us does not make us your lawyer and creates no attorney-client relationship. We are not practicing law.

1A.5 You confirm this at checkout. You must agree to this Section separately at checkout (Section 5A).

1.1 The Playbook coaches; you run your case. Small Claims Coach provides general legal information, checklists, templates, and organizing tools. The Playbook acts as your guide while you organize, prepare, and present your own case. No person coaches you, reviews your case, or gives you legal advice. Every decision and every action in your case — what to file, whom to sue, what to say, and whether to settle — is yours.

1.2 No legal advice. Nothing on the Service is legal advice. We do not review your facts for legal sufficiency, apply the law to your situation, choose forms for you, or tell you what you should do in your case.

1.3 No attorney-client relationship. Using the Service, buying a membership, or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other confidential or fiduciary relationship. What you send us is not protected by attorney-client privilege.

1.4 No representation. We do not represent you, appear for you, file documents for you, or contact the court or the other side for you.

1.5 Rules change and vary. Court rules, fees, limits, and forms differ by state and county and change often. Information on the Service may be incomplete or out of date. Always check your court's rules before you rely on anything.

1.6 State pages are reviewed, not guaranteed. We review and update our state pages and Playbooks regularly. Even so, laws, fees, limits, and forms can change between our reviews, and we do not guarantee that any page is current, complete, or error-free on the day you read it. Each page may show the date it was last reviewed; confirm details with your court before you file or appear. If your matter is complex, or if you want advice about your specific situation, talk to a lawyer licensed in your state.

2. Eligibility

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract.

2.2 Buyers outside the U.S. may buy a membership, except as stated in Section 2.4. The Content covers U.S. small claims courts only. It does not cover the courts or laws of any other country, and you are responsible for following any laws that apply where you are.

2.3 You may not use the Service if we have previously ended your access for violating these Terms.

2.4 Not available in the EU, EEA or UK. Memberships and other purchases are not offered to residents of, or buyers located in, any member state of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway (the European Economic Area), or the United Kingdom. By making a purchase, you represent that you are not a resident of, and are not located in, any of those countries. A purchase made in violation of this Section is a breach of these Terms, and you are not entitled to a refund of any amount paid. We may also end the membership. Because we do not sell to buyers in those countries, no EU, EEA or UK statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation is offered under these Terms.

3. Your account

3.1 Give accurate information when you sign up and keep your email address current. We send account notices, including renewal reminders (Section 5.4A), to that email.

3.2 You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to it secure. Tell us right away at lawsuitcoach@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.

3.3 One person per account. Each membership is for a single named individual. You may not share your login, your sign-in links, or your access with anyone else, or let more than one person use one account. We may limit, suspend, or end accounts that show signs of sharing (for example, simultaneous use from many locations).

4. License to use the Service

4.1 If you follow these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to view and use the Service, and any members-only content, for your own personal, non-commercial purpose of preparing your own small claims matter.

4.2 You may print or save a reasonable number of copies of worksheets, checklists, or templates and fill them in for your own case, including filing your own completed documents with a court or giving them to the other party as your case requires.

4.3 Everything not expressly granted is reserved to us. The license ends automatically if you breach these Terms or your membership ends.

5. The Playbook membership, billing, and auto-renewal

5.1 What you get. A Playbook membership gives you access, for the membership term, to the members-only Playbook content for every state we cover, plus members-only sections of our articles. The content available may change over time; we add and update material as we go. Some features may be marked "coming soon" and are not yet included.

5.2 Yearly only. The Playbook is sold as a yearly membership. We do not currently offer a monthly plan.

5.3 Price. The regular price is $199 per year (U.S. dollars), plus tax, where applicable. We offer new members a first-year signup promo price of $149, after which the membership renews at the regular price of $199 per year (Section 6). The price you will pay is shown at checkout before you buy.

5.3A Sales tax. For now, we collect sales tax only on purchases from Pennsylvania, where required. If you buy from anywhere else, you are responsible for any taxes that apply where you are.

5.4 Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically each year at the then-current regular price, charged to the payment method on file, until you cancel the renewal. By buying a membership, you authorize these recurring yearly charges. At checkout, we will show the renewal terms clearly and ask for your affirmative consent before you pay.

5.4A Renewal reminder. We will email you a reminder 30 days before each yearly renewal. The reminder will state your renewal date, the price you will be charged, and how to cancel (Section 5.6). It goes to the email address on your account, so keep it current. Your renewal date is also shown on your Account page and in your purchase receipt.

5.5 Renewal date. Your membership renews on the anniversary of your purchase date each year unless you cancel before that date.

5.6 How to cancel your renewal. You can cancel your renewal anytime, online, in the same way you signed up: - Sign in, open your Account page, and choose Cancel subscription; or - Email lawsuitcoach@gmail.com with "Cancel renewal" and the email address on your account.

Canceling stops future renewal charges. You keep access until the end of the year you already paid for, and then the membership ends. We will confirm your cancellation by email.

5.7 Price changes. We may change the regular price for future terms. If the price will change for your renewal, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the renewal date (this may be included in your renewal reminder under Section 5.4A), and you can cancel before it renews.

5.7A "As is"; content may change. The Playbook is sold "as is." We make no representations about what is or isn't included in it, what will or won't be added to it, or that anything currently in it won't be changed or removed. We may add, change, update, or remove any content or feature at any time, and doing so does not entitle you to a refund. See also Section 12.

5.8 Failed payments. If a renewal charge fails, we may retry it or pause your access until payment succeeds.

5.9 Payments processor. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to its handling of your payment details.

5A. Checkout confirmations

5A.1 Before you can pay, you must check two separate boxes at checkout: - (a) that you have reviewed and agree to these Terms (including the automatic renewal terms) and the Privacy Policy; and - (b) separately, that you understand and agree that Small Claims Coach is not practicing law, that buying does not make Small Claims Coach your lawyer, and that it creates no attorney-client relationship (Section 1A).

5A.2 You cannot complete a purchase without checking both boxes.

6. Launch price

6.1 We offer new members a first-year signup promo price of $149 instead of the regular price of $199 per year.

6.2 The launch price applies only to your first year. When that year ends, your membership renews at the regular price (currently $199 per year) unless you cancel your renewal first.

6.3 We may end the launch offer at any time without notice for new buyers. Ending the offer does not change the price of a first year you already bought. Launch pricing can't be combined with other offers, applied to past purchases, or exchanged for cash.

7. Refunds

7.1 First purchase is final. Refunds are available only for renewal charges, as described in Section 7.2. Your first membership payment — including a first year bought at the $149 launch price — is non-refundable once your membership starts, because you get immediate access to the full Playbook. We do not give partial or prorated refunds for unused time.

7.2 14-day refund on automatic renewals. If your membership automatically renews, you can get a full refund of that renewal charge if you ask us in writing within 14 days of the date the renewal was charged. To ask, email lawsuitcoach@gmail.com from (or naming) the email address on your account, with "Renewal refund" in the subject line. Once we refund a renewal, your membership ends and your access stops. Requests received after the 14 days have passed are not eligible.

7.3 Cancel your renewal anytime. You never need a refund to stop future charges. You can cancel your renewal anytime (Section 5.6); you won't be charged for the next year, and you keep access until the year you already paid for ends.

7.4 Billing errors. We will always refund a charge made in error, such as a duplicate charge.

7.5 Your legal rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the law of your state.

7.6 If you have a question about a charge, please email lawsuitcoach@gmail.com before disputing it with your bank, so we can try to fix it quickly.

8. Our intellectual property

8.1 The Service and everything on it — including text, guides, Playbooks, checklists, templates, worksheets, timelines, outlines, diagrams, images, graphics, logos, page design, and the selection and arrangement of all of it ("Content") — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other laws.

8.2 "Small Claims Coach," "The Playbook," and our logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission.

8.3 Court forms and government materials we link to belong to their publishers. Our copyright covers our own work, including our explanations, organization, and tools.

9. What you may not do

You may not, and may not help or allow anyone else to:

9.1 Copy or redistribute. Copy, reproduce, republish, sell, resell, rent, license, post, upload, share, email, or distribute any members-only Content, in whole or in part, beyond the personal use allowed in Section 4 — including posting it to websites, forums, social media, file-sharing services, group chats, or course platforms.

9.2 Share access. Share your login, sign-in links, or account with anyone, or sell or transfer your membership.

9.3 Scrape or crawl. Use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper, browser extension, script, or other automated means to access, copy, download, index, or collect Content or data from the Service, except general-purpose search engines indexing our public pages in line with our robots.txt.

9.4 AI training or ingestion. Use any Content to train, fine-tune, test, prompt-stuff, or build a dataset for any artificial intelligence or machine-learning model or tool, or upload members-only Content into any AI service, without our written permission.

9.5 Make competing products. Use Content to create a derivative or competing guide, course, product, or service.

9.6 Get around protections. Bypass, disable, or interfere with paywalls, access controls, rate limits, or other security features, or access areas you haven't paid for.

9.7 Misuse the Service. Remove copyright or other notices; frame or mirror the Service; interfere with or overload it; introduce malware; impersonate anyone; or use the Service for anything unlawful.

10. How we protect our content

10.1 We enforce our rights. We take unauthorized copying and distribution seriously. If you violate Sections 8 or 9, we may, in addition to ending your access, pursue every remedy available to us under the law, including: - sending takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) to websites, hosts, platforms, and search engines; - filing a civil lawsuit for copyright infringement, breach of contract, or other claims, and seeking damages (including statutory damages where available), injunctions, and attorneys' fees and costs where the law allows; and - reporting violations to the appropriate authorities.

10.2 Monitoring. We may use reasonable measures (for example, watermarks, unique content markers, or access logs) to detect sharing and unauthorized copies.

10.3 Reporting infringement of your work. If you believe something on our Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at lawsuitcoach@gmail.com or by mail to Small Claims Coach, LLC, 207 Buck Road, Suite 2, Southampton, PA 18966 that includes: your signature; identification of the work; identification and location of the material; your contact details; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act. We may end the accounts of repeat infringers.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 You may stop using the Service and cancel your renewal at any time (Section 5.6).

11.2 We may suspend or end your account and access, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms — including by sharing your login, copying or redistributing Content, or scraping — or if we reasonably believe your use creates legal risk or harm to us or others. If we end your access for a violation, you will not receive any refund, and the license in Section 4 ends immediately.

11.3 We may discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. If we discontinue the Service, you will not receive a full, partial, or prorated refund of any first-year payment; a renewal charged within the previous 14 days remains refundable under Section 7.2.

11.4 Sections that by their nature should survive (including 1A, 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12–16) survive termination.

12. Disclaimers

12.0 The "as is" terms for The Playbook's content in Section 5.7A are part of this Section.

12.1 THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT WHAT CONTENT IS OR IS NOT INCLUDED, WHAT WILL OR WON'T BE ADDED, OR THAT CURRENT CONTENT WON'T BE CHANGED OR REMOVED, AND WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12.2 No guaranteed outcome; your case is yours. We do not promise any result in your case, including that you will win, collect a judgment, or meet a court's requirements or deadlines. Outcomes depend on your facts, your preparation, the law, and the court. We are not responsible for the outcome of your case. You agree that you will not seek compensation from us because you lost, settled, or did not collect on a claim, missed a deadline, or filed the wrong form, or because a court or the other side acted in any way, even if you used our Content. The Service is information only, not legal advice.

12.3 We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, current, or available in every location.

12.4 Links to courts, government sites, and other third parties are for convenience. We don't control and aren't responsible for them.

13. Limitation of liability

13.1 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE AND OUR OWNERS, MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST CLAIMS OR JUDGMENTS, THE AMOUNT OF ANY CLAIM YOU LOST OR DID NOT COLLECT, COURT COSTS OR FEES IN YOUR CASE, MISSED DEADLINES, OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.

13.2 TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. IF YOU PAID US NOTHING IN THAT PERIOD, OUR LIABILITY IS ZERO.

13.3 Some states do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of the above may not apply to you. In those states our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service or Content, or your violation of anyone else's rights.

15. Governing law and disputes

15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable U.S. federal law.

15.2 Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to email lawsuitcoach@gmail.com describing the issue and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.

15.3 Where disputes are heard. Any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and us arising from or relating to the Service, your membership, or these Terms will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction and venue. Those courts' own rules and procedures apply, including any court-run arbitration program that applies to the claim.

15.4A Class-action waiver. You and we may bring claims against each other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim (and only that claim) will be severed and proceed in the courts named in Section 15.3.

15.5 Injunctions. Either party may seek an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property in the courts named in Section 15.3.

15.6 Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, where the law allows such a limit.

16. General terms

16.1 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will email members at least 30 days before the change takes effect. A change to price or renewal terms will apply only from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then. These notices are in addition to the renewal reminder we send 30 days before each yearly renewal (Section 5.4A). Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

16.2 Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information, and is part of these Terms.

16.3 Entire agreement; severability; no waiver. These Terms (with the Privacy Policy and any terms shown at checkout) are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.

16.4 Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms or your membership. We may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.

16.5 Notices. We may give you notices by email to your account address or by posting on the Service.

16.6 California users. Under California Civil Code § 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (916) 445-1254 or (800) 952-5210.
