Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026. Last updated: October 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Small Claims Coach, LLC ("Small Claims Coach," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use smallclaimscoach.com, our newsletters, and The Playbook membership (the "Service"). It is part of our(https://www.smallclaimscoach.com/terms/).

Short version: We collect only what we need to run your account, take payment, and send you emails. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use it for our own purposes, including emailing you about Small Claims Coach; you can unsubscribe anytime. Please don't send us the details of your case: we don't want them and won't review them.

1. Information we collect

You give us: your name and email address when you subscribe or create an account; messages you send us (for example, support or refund requests). Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive limited details (such as the last four digits of your card, card brand, billing country/ZIP, and payment status), never your full card number. Collected automatically: device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referring site, and similar usage data, through cookies and similar tools (Section 5). What we don't want: the facts of your dispute, documents from your case, or sensitive information (health, financial account numbers, Social Security numbers). The Service doesn't need them. If you send them anyway, we will use them only to answer you.

2. How we use it

  • Create and manage your account and membership, and give you access to members-only content.
  • Process payments, renewals, and refunds (renewals are automatic; see the Terms).
  • Answer your questions and send account and transactional emails (receipts, sign-in links, renewal reminders, policy changes).
  • Send newsletters and marketing emails about Small Claims Coach (see Section 4).
  • Understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, account sharing, scraping, and other misuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • Comply with law and protect our rights.

3. How we share it

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising. We share it only: - With service providers who run the Service for us and may use it only on our behalf: Ghost (website, memberships, and email newsletters), Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider, hosting, and analytics providers (Ghost native analytics and Google Analytics). - For legal reasons: to comply with law, a subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public. - In a business transfer: if we merge, are acquired, or sell assets, subject to this policy. - With your consent.

4. Emails and marketing

We may send you marketing emails about Small Claims Coach, The Playbook, and related content. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also change email preferences on your Account page or email us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary account emails (like receipts). We email members a renewal reminder 30 days before each yearly renewal (see the Terms); this is an account email, not marketing.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed to sign you in and keep your session, plus analytics to understand site traffic (Ghost native analytics and Google Analytics). You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some features (like signing in) may not work without them.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and billing records while your account is active and as long as needed for tax, accounting, legal, and fraud-prevention purposes. Then we delete or de-identify it.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, and payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant processor. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

You can view and update your account details on your Account page, unsubscribe from marketing anytime, and ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing lawsuitcoach@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and may keep some information when the law requires it. Depending on where you live (for example, California or other U.S. states with privacy laws, or outside the U.S.), you may have additional rights; we will honor them as required by law.

9. Visitors outside the United States

Visitors from outside the U.S. may use the free parts of the Service, and buyers outside the U.S. may buy a membership, except that we do not sell memberships or other purchases to residents of, or buyers located in, the European Union, the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) or the United Kingdom (see Terms of Service Section 2.4). We operate in the United States and your information will be processed and stored in the U.S. If you visit from the EU, EEA or UK, you may have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR regarding information we collect when you browse or sign up for free content, and we will honor them as required by law.

10. Children

The Service is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We link to courts, government sites, and other third parties. Their privacy practices are their own.

12. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will email members before they take effect.
